Manage DID Settings
Use Number Inventory to change how your DIDs are connected, formatted, and presented. You can update one DID or apply selected settings to multiple DIDs at once.
Edit one DID
Step 1: Go to Number Inventory and select All Numbers.
Step 2: Locate the DID you want to update and select Manage.
Step 3: Update the required settings.
Step 4: Select Save.
Bulk update multiple DIDs
You can apply the same Incoming Connection, CLI Translation Rule, or Number Format to multiple DIDs at once.
Only the settings you enable are changed. Any setting left disabled keeps its existing value.
Step 1: Filter the Number Inventory list if required.
Step 2: Select the checkboxes beside the DIDs you want to update.
Step 3: Select Update Settings above the Number Inventory table.
Step 4: In the Update Number Settings window, enable only the settings you want to change.
Step 5: Select Update Selected.
Step 6: Review the result message, then select Close.
Update Settings appears after at least one eligible DID is selected. The update applies only to the selected rows on the current page, not every DID that matches the filter.
The result shows how many DIDs were processed successfully, including how many already had the requested settings, and how many failed without being saved. If some DIDs are processed successfully and others fail, the result is shown as a partial update.
After closing the result, Number Inventory reloads with the same filters, results per page, and current page.
Understand the available settings
Incoming Connection
Use Incoming Connection to change where the DID is delivered.
For bulk updates, Incoming Connection is available only when all selected DIDs belong to the same service. Only connections for that service are shown.
CLI Translation Rule
Use CLI Translation Rule to change how the caller's CLI is presented before the call is delivered.
For bulk updates, enable Change CLI Translation Rule and enter the rule you want to apply. To remove the current rule, enable the option and leave the field blank. The rule cannot contain whitespace.
For examples and additional rule syntax, see CLI/CLD Translation.
Number Format
Use Number Format to control how the DID number is presented.
Available formats may include:
- E.164
- +E.164
- Domestic
Depending on your account configuration, Local DID Conversion may be shown instead. Enter digits only, up to 32 digits.
Forward DID in URI
When Forward DID in URI is turned off, the Service ID is used in the
To header of SIP INVITE messages. When it is turned on, the DID number is used instead.Forward DID in URI is available when editing an individual DID and is not included in the bulk update options.
Bulk update limitations
- Incoming Connection requires all selected DIDs to belong to the same service.
- Mixed-service selections can still update CLI Translation Rule or Number Format.
- Microsoft Teams DIDs cannot be selected for bulk updates.
- Hosted Voice DIDs are not supported by Update Settings. Remove them from the selection before trying again.
- At least one setting must be enabled before the update can be submitted.
- Settings that are not enabled remain unchanged.
