VoWiFi and WiFiSMS
This is a game changing feature for our roaming product. Users will be able to make calls and SMS over WiFi, thus, even if their international roaming packs has expired / or has exhausted, they would still be able to access and make calls and SMS.
There’s no additional charge to use Wi-Fi Calling on a Telstra mobile and the calls and SMS allowance is based on domestic inclusions - which is unlimited. To use Wi-Fi Calling, users need a 4G mobile phone which has Wi-Fi Calling capabilities.
Using Wi-Fi Calling
You must ensure that Wi-Fi Calling is enabled on your device. On your device, navigate to Settings > Mobile/Cellular > Select the mobile service > Wi-Fi Calling > Enable.
Wi-Fi SMS (SMSoIP)
Wi-Fi SMS allows you to send and receive SMS messages on compatible devices when connected to a supported Wi-Fi network. It's particularly useful when you have Wi-Fi access but are unable to connect to a mobile network for text messaging.
