2FA for Atomic

Admin
As you may be aware there have been numerous data breaches of late, not only within the telecommunication industry, but across the globe. No longer is a username and password sufficient as a secure means to access your private data.
To improve our security, we have now added **two-factor authentication (2FA)** into the Atomic portal. This is now live on the portal and we encourage you to activate this feature to provide an added layer of security to your accounts. This will also be applicable to all sub-users within your account.

How to enable 2FA

To enable 2FA for your account you will need an authenticator app that manages two-factor authentication codes, such as Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.
You can download these apps from your respective app store on your mobile device (App Store, Google Play).

Turn on 2FA

Step 1: Sign in to the Atomic portal.
Step 2: Open the profile menu in the top right corner and select User Settings.
Step 3: In Security, turn on Enable Two-factor Authentication. A Scan QR Code section appears.
Step 4: Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (for example Google Authenticator), then enter the 6-digit code it shows in Code from your authenticator app.

Step 5: Select Update. 2FA only turns on when the code is correct.
Step 6: The next time you sign in, enter the code from your app after your email and password.

Good to know

  • Once 2FA is on, the QR code is no longer shown. To move 2FA to a new phone, turn it off, then turn it on again and scan the new QR code.
  • If 2FA was switched on for your login when it was created (for example a new sub-user), you are asked to scan a QR code and enter a code the first time you sign in. This step cannot be skipped.
  • Lost your phone and cannot sign in? Contact support to switch 2FA off for your login.
