Adding an Extension
Users are essentially tied to an extension phone numbers you give to phones connected to the system. This is how one user on the system can call another and how external calls can be directed to a particular user.
There are 2 ways to add a user. You can add a user manually, or you can use a .csv file to upload multiple users in a single go.
Adding a User Manually
- On the portal, click on Extension/User
- Depending on the license you want the user to have, you will click Create User for the corresponding license type. (You can change this at any time after creation - as long as there are available license).
- Select Create User
- Extension - Enter the extension number that you would like to assign to the user
- Password - You can manually enter a password or click on the Generate button to automatically generate a random password
- Then enter the user's First Name, Last Name and Email and click on the Create button to create the user
Adding Multiple Users
You can add multiple users quickly by uploading a .csv file.
- On the portal, click on Extension/User
- Depending on the license you want these users to have, click on Upload Multiple for the corresponding license type.
- To get a template and use that template to input in the required information, click on the Download CSV button. This will download a file to your computer.
- Open the file and enter all relevant information about the user that you would like to add.
- Once completed, save the document. Click on the Browse button and select the document.
- You will see a preview of all the users that the system has read from the uploaded file. Please review and edit the information, and once you are happy, click on Import Users
